Complaint and dispute resolution process to deal with breaches of the Sustainable Sourcing Code

December 2012

Sustainability lessons learned from developing and implementing a process to deal with complaints and grievances related to the application of the LOCOG Sustainable Sourcing Code, particularly in relation to labour conditions at factories in the supply chain which supplied sponsors, licensees and suppliers.

The process was informed by the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

It can be read alongside a complementary case study on the Stakeholder Oversight Group, a micro-report on the operation of a temporary worker hotline in China, and independent review of how compliance with supply chain labour standards were managed by the Games organising committee.
